Crafty Creations #4: Spring Bag Trees
It's time for the next episode of Crafty Creations featuring Tremain Jackson and Alyssa Crow, from the South Branch of the Abilene Public Library, making the next craft for March. Spring happens in March, and what better way to celebrate than to make, what we like to call, "Spring Bag Trees." The children's book that will go along with this craft episode is "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein, so look out for a copy at your local public library and check it out. Also visit our library's website at www.abilenetx.com/apl/kids_crafts.html to download or print out a copy of our activity/resource page that will give you the instructions on making our craft, plus more fun stuff.

Where History Meets Art: The Amazing Art of Kells
The Washington-Centerville Public Library is honored to display this rare, donated facsimile edition of the Book of Kells, a world-famous 9th century illuminated manuscript. Study the art behind a book acclaimed to be the most beautiful book ever written and then visit the library each week to appreciate this magnificent book. One page of the book will be displayed each week, in the same way the pages of the original are displayed at Trinity College in Dublin to a half million people each year.
