It's time for the latest episode of Crafty Creations started by Tremain Jackson & Alyssa Crow from the Abilene Public Library. This show will provide you with family friendly and easy to do crafts that tie in children's literature with craft making projects to enhance the love of literature. For this episode, we're going to teach you how to make Heart Animals. As it's February, and Valentine's Day is just around the corner, what better craft to do then one that uses hearts??? Remember, please visit the Abilene Public Library's website in our Kids Section where we will also have an activity/resource sheet posted for this Crafty Creations show that will provide you with the instructions, templates, suggested reading and more. Plus you will also be able to find the resource sheets for our other Crafty Creations episodes. The link to the site is www.abilenetx.com/apl/kids_crafts.html.

Take a look at Part II of the Mockingbird Branch Library's Grand Opening Day. Part I gave you a look at all the speakers during the opening ceremony, and Part II of the video will actually take you inside of the library during the opening day to see some of the activities/events and to see just how busy the library was on its very first day. It was an exciting time for all with an INCREDIBLE turnout from the community in supporting the opening of the third location of the Abilene Public Library system.
